WASABI SALMON

A simple salmon recipe, Japanese origin, but learned from my mom.  If you like salmon and wasabi, this dish is for you!

Ingredients (serves 2-3)

Salmon (0.5 lbs)
Teriyaki marinade
Japanese Mayonaise (Kewpie) (3 tbs)
Wasabi paste (1 tbs)
Nori Furikake

Directions

Any salmon will be fine, just try and find a fresh one with or without the skin.  0.5 lbs will serve about 2 or 3.  Start by marinating it with a teriyaki sauce and putting it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.  Halfway through marinading, flip the salmon so both sides get the juice, especially if it's skinless.

The two important ingredients are the Japanese mayonnaise and a wasabi paste.  I use about a 3:1 ratio of Mayonnaise to wasabi and mix it well in a bowl.  If you like it more spicy, add more wasabi!
After mixed, thinly spread the paste on top of the salmon.  Make sure you cover it all!

Preheat the oven to 450F.  Once ready, slide in the salmon and bake for 12 minutes.
After 12 minutes, take out the salmon and sprinkle nori furikake all over the top to cover the salmon.  Put the salmon back into the oven for 3 more minutes.

Take out the salmon which may be a bit burnt but that's okay.

Place it on a dish and serve.  Good with rice and miso soup!
