Pretty new here in Las Vegas near the strip is a driving range, pool, and sports bar called Top Golf. Stop by, hit some golf balls, drink a little bit, dip in the pool, watch some games; it's a great way to relax and unwind with friends late night!
Cool little place here in Las Vegas where they have 2 museums, changing exhibits, shows, gardens, and other neat things. Great place to take your kids to learn and just have fun. Just a quick video showing the light exhibit.
The Love at Mirage is a Cirque du Solei show about the music of The Beatles. If you aren't a Beatles fan, it is still a good production with some special effects, lots of dancing/acrobatics, and memorable scenes like the "blanket" act. I would not rank this show very high among the other Cirque shows if action, intense acrobatics, and special effects are your priority. However, if you want to watch a relaxing, musical show with tribute to The Beatles, this show is perfect for you. On the plus side, there are no bad seats in the arena and would actually prefer the seats in the back to get a view of everything. Show in Las Vegas about...I'm not even sure what. Lots of lights, music, special effects, comedy, creativity, and fun!
The Book of Mormon, by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone (Creators of Southpark), is a religious sattire musical. It tells a story of Mormons going on a mission to Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening a local village. If you like southpark humor, you will love this show. It is very raunchy, vulgar, racy, and really really funny. This show is not for the conservative, and if you aren't okay with profanity, you may be offended. However, if you love music, comedy, and sattires, be prepared to laugh your ass off. Red Rock Canyon is Nevada's first National Conservation Area. Just drive west on Charleston, about 17 miles from the Las Vegas Boulevard, until you reach the 13 mile scenic drive. It has more than 30 miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, mountain biking, and a visitor center with exhibit rooms and book store. This video is from our hike at Calico where we climbed all the way to the top with just minor cuts and bruises. It is pretty difficult in some areas that require jumping across rocks, climbing near vertical walls, and dropping down 6 feet ledges. If you enjoy hiking and climbing, or just nature in general, you definitely have to visit Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas!
Every year around Christmas, Las Vegas Motor Speedway sets up an event where you drive through 2.5 miles of glittering Xmas lights while tuning into their radio station playing Xmas songs all night long. It's just $20 per car and definitely worth checking out! For more information, here is their website. http://www.glitteringlightslasvegas.com
Panda! show at the Venetian, Las Vegas is a display of Chinese acrobats showing their talents from juggling, flipping through hoops, and balancing acts. It is a story of an evil tribe that kidnaps the peacock/lover of a helpless panda. Saddened, the panda travels and trains to eventually fight back and rescue his true love. Pretty generic story but the lighting and special effects were very good. You may have seen a Chinese acrobatic show already which this is nothing too new. However, have you seen a Chinese acrobatic show where the acrobats are dressed in a giant panda outfit? The talent along with the good lighting, special effects, and costumes make it worth watching.
Exotic Racing is near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where you can rent exotic cars and track them. I got to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo for 10 laps, which was exhilarating! There are a lot of different cars to choose from, Ferrari F430, 458 Italia, Porsche 997 turbo, Audi R8, Nissan GTR just to name a few. Worth checking out if you're into fast cars and racing. The instructor in the passenger side will guide you through the track, teaching you the best racing line and when to brake, etc. There are other cars on the track so if you are taking it easy, it is definitely advised to let them pass you. But if you're a speed demon, leave them in your dust!
