Here is a quick slideshow/recap of "Life is Beautiful" at Las Vegas 2014. Life is Beautiful is an art/food/music festival held in Downtown Las Vegas over 3 days. There were multiple stages with musicians performing all day and night with Kanye West, Outkast, Foo Fighters just to name a few. Lots of food trucks and art displayed around 4 or 5 blocks that were closed off. Try to go next year!
Exotic Racing is near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where you can rent exotic cars and track them. I got to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo for 10 laps, which was exhilarating! There are a lot of different cars to choose from, Ferrari F430, 458 Italia, Porsche 997 turbo, Audi R8, Nissan GTR just to name a few. Worth checking out if you're into fast cars and racing. The instructor in the passenger side will guide you through the track, teaching you the best racing line and when to brake, etc. There are other cars on the track so if you are taking it easy, it is definitely advised to let them pass you. But if you're a speed demon, leave them in your dust!
Time to translate hours of playing counter-strike into real life. Machine Gun Vegas is located at 3501 Aldebaran Ave. I shot the Sig P226, shotgun, M4 (above), and the M249 SAW. It was a blast especially because you can hold the trigger and fire full auto here in Las Vegas. This place was great, quick and easy, and took less than 20 min to get firing the guns. Definitely recommended if you need to blow off some steam or if you're firing guns for the first time.
Brian Regan came in for an eye exam! For those that don't know him, he's a comedian that has an optometry bit that is absolutely hilarious. Here's a link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8GMFkc3iSA. When he realized I knew him and saw his optometry act, he said, "I hope this doesn't make things awkward during the exam." He's a really nice and funny guy and hope he comes back for another exam. He's quite busy though and currently tours every month. Book a show here! http://brianregan.com/ Thanks for coming in Brian and enjoy the new contacts. You didn't fail the eye exam! Jinya is a Ramen bar restaurant located at 4860 W. Flamingo Ave. Las Vegas. Jinya is one of the better ramen restaurants here in Las Vegas, very comparable to Monta if not better imo. Monta may be a hit or miss depending on the salt level. Pictured here is the crispy chicken, tonkotsu spicy, and wonton chicken ramen. The spicy chicken was delicious, definitely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The ponzu sauce added a savory vinegary flavor which complimented the chicken perfectly. Both ramen had a very rich and thick broth, and you can tell it was full of dissolved fat, bone marrow, collagen, and protein. The flavor was very good, but not unique enough to give this a 5 star rating. The chashu was cooked well, soft enough to almost melt in your mouth. The chicken with plenty of wontons is a definite try if you want to try something different other than pork broth. Overall, I would definitely go back and I'd give it a A-.
